Policies & Guidelines

Code of Conduct: Participant Safety
When you join us for a game, we hope you'll have fun, but we also want you to know that we endeavor to provide for our participants a safe, inclusive environment. We game by a code.  As a player at a Saturday Night Space Opera game event, you're expected to have fun. But we also expect you to act with consideration and courteousness to your fellow participants.

As such, you also agree to the following conditions when you attend one of our events. First and foremost, you agree to refrain from: Violating federal, state, and local laws. Using anything in a threatening or destructive manner against others or property. Endangering your own safety or the safety of others. Threatening or harassing behavior in general but also harassing language and behavior targeting another person's racial or ethnic background; gender identity; sexual orientation; physical, functional, and learning abilities, religious and/or spiritual beliefs, age, or socioeconomic status. If you violate these conditions you will be expelled from play and banned from future event attendance.

Photo Policy
Every once in a while we like to capture a screengrab of our players so we can share how awesome they are and what we do at SNSO. During online events, we like to take a few pictures or screengrabs of our players , but we’ll only take photos if we have a unanimous consent for a given game session. If you do not want your image used, please reply back prior to logging into the online game, otherwise your participation constitutes consent to be photographed. For online safety reasons, we ask participants not take their own pictures or recordings of game sessions. And yes, we’ll always warn you before we snap a picture. For in-person events, we'll likewise ask for permission, but sometimes an event in a larger place means that you may be photographed in the background. We hope you understand that sometimes this is unavoidable and by gaming in public you are giving a form of consent to being photographed, amidst a larger group of gamers.

Commitment to Growth
We'll do our utmost to keep the game as safe and transparent as possible. We are a group of volunteers and are constantly working and learning to provide ideal conditions for everyone. If you would like to connect with us about our policies, you can reach us through our Contact page. We want you to feel welcomed and hope you'll leave the game table smiling!
